JMJ Class Discipline Guidelines

Only paid members will be allowed to take classes organized by JMJ Tampa Bay Catholic Homeschool Support Group. If a discipline problem occurs during one of the classes offered by a teacher or club leader at JMJ, the following guidelines should be followed:

• 1st Offense: The teacher should speak directly and privately to the student and try to clearly communicate what the problem behavior was and what the expected behavior for the class/situation should be.

• 2nd Offense: The teacher should speak in private to the student’s parent.

• 3rd Offense: The teacher will contact the Service Council to approve a teacher determined consequence (e.g., parent must sit in class with student with arrangements made for other children not enrolled in the class; student will be unable to complete class and refunded outstanding balance only if it does not effect the price other students in the class must pay, etc…), and a written warning will be given to the parent AND Service Council.

• 4th Offense: The teacher will follow through with above consequence with the support of Service Council, if needed.
